Parker Shaw
Professional Counselor Associate
Supervisor: Emily Brems, LMFT
I work primarily with teen and adult athletes (including former athletes) navigating the pressure, expectations, and identity that come with competitive sport and growing into adulthood.
As a former college football player and coach, I understand the performance demands, confidence swings, and identity struggles that can come with athletics. Between training, competition, school or career decisions, and life transitions, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. I help athletes manage pressure, build confidence, and stay anchored so they can perform at their best and create a fulfilling life beyond sport.
I use an existential approach that explores your values, freedom, and life’s big questions. I also pull from Solution-Focused strategies, CBT, and DBT to build coping skills and help reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors so you can better manage life’s challenges.
Finding the right therapist can be tough. I’m all about being real, building trust, and making sure we both feel comfortable showing up as ourselves. If we’re a good fit—great! If not, that’s okay too. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a consultation.
