Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

  • If you’ve ever wondered whether therapy could help, you’re not alone. Most people reach out not because something is “wrong” with them, but because something inside is asking for more—more peace, more clarity, more connection, more freedom from patterns that no longer serve.

Therapy is for anyone ready to understand themselves in a deeper way. You might be feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step. You might be carrying old pain that still shows up in your relationships. Or you might simply feel disconnected from your joy and want to find your way back home to yourself.

  • Our clinicians and practitioners draw from a wide array of modalities. From Restoration Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Psychology to IFS, Gottman or child play therapy to name just a few. We treat individuals, couples, families, teens and children using a trauma informed lens. Living Well is dedicated to a collaborative team approach to meet your needs.

  • At Living Well, we believe that therapy isn’t about fixing you, it’s about coming home to you.

We help you explore the story beneath the symptoms, reconnect with your body’s wisdom, and restore balance between your mind, emotions, and spirit.

  • [Clarify if you provide brief phone or video consultations to discuss fit and needs.]

  • We offer services from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday.

This will sometimes extends to Saturdays depending on the counselor’s or practitioner’s availability.

Billing

  • The cash-pay rate for a standard session is:

    • $100 for an Intern-Level counselor

    • $125 - $145 for an Associate-Level counselor

    • $220 for Emily Brems, the founder of Living Well

Sliding scale and scholarship rates are available by request but are subject to approval and generally only granted for 1-3 months at a time.

  • We take cash and all major credit cards (including FSA/HSA cards).

  • We currently only accept OHP (Medicaid) through Open Card plans.

While we do not accept private insurance, most insurance companies will reimburse costs for mental health services when given a “Superbill” depending on your plan.

Before going this route we recommend asking your insurance provider these questions:

    • Does my plan include mental health benefits?

    • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

    • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

    • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

    • Can I be reimbursed for mental health services by submitting a superbill?

  • A Superbill is a document which can be submitted to insurance providers for reimbursement.

    Superbills include the following information:

    • Our practice location, contact information tax ID, and NPI number

    • Your provider’s NPI and license numbers

    • Your diagnosis code(s)

    • Service dates and CPT code(s)
