Whatever you are experiencing is welcome! Anxiety, depression, trauma, or other emotional distresses might be present. Or, you might simply be trying to find your way through some difficult decisions. Regardless of what it is in you that needs tending, I offer a very accepting and collaborative style to help you find an enhanced sense of belonging, engagement, safety, and peace.

Working together, we will discuss the challenges you face and consider the therapeutic approaches that seem most likely to benefit you. In some cases, you might decide to focus on how your family of origin or trauma history gets in the way of more fully being your better, healthier self. In other cases, you might want to work through challenging choices or situations in the present.

I am interested in working with people whose viewpoints and identities cross the societal spectrum. In addition to my training as a therapist, my life experiences include reaching across political divides and religious differences, navigating neurodivergence, and supporting people with LGBTQIA+ identities. As a cis-gendered male, I am familiar with both the privileges and challenges faced by men in our society; and as an elder, I am familiar with many of the challenges of life transitions.

I live with my wife in Portland, Oregon where we enjoy being together in the outdoors year-round. My child and stepchildren are grown and finding their way in the world. At home, you might find me tending the garden and bee hives, preserving food, or engaged in home improvement projects.
